The mosquito is a worthy foe. There are a lot of them this year due to a mild winter and wet spring. Mosquito's are attracted to carbon dioxide. If you don't exhale you should be ok.
REI sells a product called juice it's 98.11% DEET. If you put DEET on your skin and clothes mosquito's will get sick if they land on you, become nauseous and fly off. They will still hover and "bug" you.
Permethrin is a chemical engineered for military personnel operating in areas where mosquito's and other bugs cary diseases. Permethrin bonds to fabrics, lasts up to 6 weeks, and kills bugs on contact. Permethrin is nasty stuff and it scares me.
Just think of them as little Edwards.
